#4 Don’t Overtrain

A common train of thought is that more is better. Actually when you are skinny and trying to bulk up more can actually have negative effects. This will increase your testosterone levels, which means you will recover faster from your workout. Strength training burns a lot of carbohydrates, so you should never do a muscle building workout without having ingested at least 300 to 600 carb calories 2 to 3 hours before your workout. Foods like yams, sweet potatoes, brown rice, quinoa, oatmeal, and rice are all good choices for healthy carbs. If you eat the same type of meal after your workout you will put on muscle faster, because after your workout your body absorbs the sugars a lot faster.

#6 Eat Fat at the Right Time
