Is Weight Loss with HGH Possible?

Weight loss – it’s a battle many of us fight at some time during our life. But could the natural occurring hormone, HGH, be the latest dream diet plan? Human growth hormone or HGH supplements can change all this. If you are significantly growth hormone deprived you will want to see a doctor, but for the majority of us an HGH supplement is exactly what we need.

So does HGH really work for weight loss? HGH weight loss supporters claim not only weight loss but an increase in strength, immunity, muscle mass, and energy.

What is Human Growth Hormone?

HGH is a natural substance placed that your body produces in the pituitary gland. It stimulates growth and the largest amounts are found in children. Research on HGH relating to weight loss continues along with research on HGH therapy for a number of different causes including age defying.

HGH and Weight Loss Studies

According to the “Journal of the American Medical Association, “The global sales HGH is estimated at between $1.5 to $2 billion in 2008.” A lot of the interest behind HGH products is because consumers believe that the HGH supplements can not only turn back the clock of time (anti-aging) along with fat loss. There has also been a promise for effective weight reduction with human growth hormone.

In one study of HGH in older men and women, scientists found HGH therapy significantly increased lean body mass and decreased fat, especially belly fat, in both men and women.

When testosterone was added to the HGH supplements, it improved cardiovascular endurance in the older men. However, when the two were combined researchers did find a few side effects were reported in the men, including an increase in glucose intolerance and diabetes.

“Although this study suggests that growth hormone or related substances, particularly given in combination with testosterone in older men, may one day be a promising therapeutic agent in the treatment of certain age-related conditions, it is not ready for prime time,” said Marc R. Blackman, M.D., author of the study and Associate Chief of Staff, at the Research & Development Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

“There is much that we still don’t know about its efficacy and, more importantly, there are too many known and potential adverse consequences associated with it. It is a fascinating and promising area of research, but at this time we can’t recommend it for use outside of a carefully controlled and monitored clinical trial.”

The study was published in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA). It was conducted by investigators from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, and the National Institute on Aging (NIA) Intramural Research Program, and supported by grants from the NIA and the National Center Research Resources.

Researchers in Brazil also investigated HGH effects on adults who were naturally deficient in the hormone. The results were published in January 2005 in the “European Journal of Endocrinology.” After one year of low dose HGH treatments, the subjects experienced a major loss of body fat, and along with a major increase in lean body mass. However, the regimen also caused an elevation of insulin levels making insulin resistance worse.

A study in the January 2007 in the “The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism” found HGH could help children who were suffering with Prader-Willi syndrome, which is a disease that compels them to eat nonstop. Researchers hope that this discovery will aid in the treatment of obesity in children genetically wired to be overweight can help them fight all childhood obesity.

Benefits of HGH

HGH sales are on the rise as more and more of the benefits are understood. Human growth hormone is found naturally in our bodies. It is produced by the pituitary gland. By the time we reach our 30’s the amount of HGH our body is producing is on the decline. As a result, many of us find ourselves fighting weight gain after the age of 40.

When HGH supplements are taken, a person begins to significantly feel the difference. Their skin becomes smoother, they develop more muscle mass, they lose fat especially around the belly area, and they have significant weight loss.

Side Effects of HGH

Studies have shown that men experience side effects more frequently, but the side effects women experience are more severe. Transient glucose intolerance or diabetes is the number one side effect in both men and women. The side effects disappear about six weeks after treatment is stopped.

The FDA has approved HGH formulations via intramuscular injection, or subcutaneous. HGH supplements benefit users that want to lose weight. However, if you have significantly low HGH levels you should see your doctor.

HGH is very efficient when it comes to weight loss especially around the belly area. I took Norditropin for 2 months about 2 IUs a day and I really noticed a difference around my belly even though I was eating the same way as before and not exercising at all. I was very happy with the results but I had to stop using it because of the cost; it really is an expensive hormone. Also I stoped using it 3 months already and the weight that I lost has not returned so far. Hopefully it will stay that way, I am going to keep my fingers crossed.

Hi Ned Where did you get the Norditropin? did you go see a doc to get it or did you get it online?

I would be concerned with the side effects of hgh if they were long lasting but it seems like they go away when you stop using it. I think that will make it much more useful than any other supplement on the market today.

Hi mike sorry for the late reply it has been a while since I visited this webpage and totally forgot that I have a post in it. Anyhow I got the Norditropin while I was overseas I just asked a doctor that I wanted to try it for weight loss and anti aging he first thought that it was risky and was worried especially about cranial brain pressure.

One of the main functions of HGH is actually to keep fat in check and that is why bodybuilders abuse it so that they get the lean look.

I am not sure how a human growth hormone is an effective weight loss treatment. You’d think it would actually increase weight being that it stimulates growth. However, a dear friend who has been battling weight issues since high school recently turned to HGH treatments and it worked. Best it is a natural occurring hormone so, although there are potential side effects, she didn’t have to take more meds to combat the side effects synthetic medicines cause.

Hi my name is Sonia and I was wondering how many Milgram should I inject per day for weight loss I am 254 pounds I just need to know more or less how much would would be recommended for weight loss

    • Fella says:

Keep it low, 2UI a day and you should be fine. The bigger you are the quicker it will drop. Also you don’t want the side effects getting too much. It takes quite a while to really work though.

  9. Gail says:

Is Somatropin a good product to use for weight loss, and how much would I inject?

  10. Jasmine Hewitt says:
