While as awesome as brand name smoothies might seem, the fact is that they are filled with soy protein and sugar, which takes what should be a healthy drink into a drink that’s about as healthy as drinking a soda. So recently Men’s Health talked about the best brand name smoothies that are available. We did a little research of our own and these are the top six we think for health and longevity – check out which best smoothie is right for you.
#1 Jamba Juice Berry UpBEET 16 oz: Jamba has a higher fiber content because it actually contains cut up whole fruits including mango, blueberry and strawberry, along with veggie juice that includes lettuce, kale, spinach, broccoli, beet and carrot juice. A serving has 230 calories, 8 g fiber, 50 g carbs, 38 g sugar, 3 g protein. It’s important to note that the protein is still fairly low while the sugar is still fairly high.
#2 Bolthouse Farms Multi-V Goodness 15.2 oz – A person should take in 38 grams of fiber every day according to Mike Roussel, Ph. D MH nutrition advisor. However, Roussell says that most people get less than half of that. One serving will make up 40% of yoru daily fiber needs. A serving has 266 calories, 61 g carbs, 15 g fiber, 48 g sugar, 2 g protein. It’s important to note that the protein is low while the sugar is still fairly high.

#4 Jamba Juice Kale-ribbean Breeze + Whey Protein – The 10 grams of natural protein really makes this a great choice although the sugar remains high at 48 grams, which is too bad. This is a solid muscle building formula. It has 370 calories, 67 g carbs, 6 g fiber, 48 g sugar, 20 g protein.
#5 Starbucks Orange Mango Smoothie – What’s not to like about a Starbuck’s anything. This smoothie has good protein count, but sadly it’s still very high in the sugar. It has 270 calories, 53 g carbs, 6 g fiber, 37 g sugar, 16 g protein
#6 Naked Juice Acai Machine – We all know how important fresh fruits and vegetables are to our diet but we don’t always get what we need. This smoothie comes highly recommended for anyone that needs a boost but doesn’t have time to grab a solid meal. It contains 320 calories, 62 g carbs, 6 g fiber, 48 g sugar, 4 g protein. Again, the sugar is high and protein is moderate.
